Please provide a settings option to assign separate option values from the display text for dropdown, single-select, combobox, and multi-select questions. This will allow foreign language workflows to output English answers without having to use invisible logic or other methods to translate foreign language anwers back to English. It will also allow builders to change display text without breaking any dependent logic, and it will allow builders to create discriptive, easy-to-understand display text for end users and shorter answer values for summary reports and data collection. For example, if we ask a question, “What is your marital status?”, then we may provide an option that says, “I am married” or “I am in a civil union”, but we only want to save “married” or “civil union” for reporting or storing in a third-party system, such as Airtable or Clio. This could be an advanced feature option the builder could select when creating questions; otherwise the option value would default to the display text.
Agreed! Would also prevent having to re-tag the mapping with other integrations whenever we want to change the display text of an option.
Additionnally, if there is any formatting on the display text (such as or ** for italics, bold), the symbols are showing up in the text when it’s getting carried to other platforms through integrations.
